Southern Boys def. Cactus Jack & Kevin Sullivan by DQ in 3:16

I mentioned how poorly WCW used the Southern Boys during their tenure in my Clash XI review, so I figured I’d give them a watch. This match wasn’t long after their debut, and Sullivan was also on the booking committee at the time, in a twist of irony. These four crammed a ton of action into these three minutes, including the psycho Cactus and Sullivan feeding and bumping their asses off for the young babyfaces. The dropkick Tracy hit off the top rope on Cactus looked so perfect that they kept the camera on his face the entire time. Unfortunately, that’s also when Sullivan ran in for the DQ. A big melee ensued, with Norman, Bam Bam Bigelow, Sail Boat Captain Mike Rotunda, and babyface Abdullah the Butcher coming out to an enormous pop. This was more of an angle than a match, but it made me thirsty for more Southern Boys and some kind of tag with all these guys, even Anchor on His Ass Mike Rotunda. NR
