WWF IC Title/Ladder Match: Bret Hart (C) def. Shawn Michaels in 13:48

This match wasn’t the rehearsed spotfest this stip would go on to be, but it was an extremely well-told story with a lot of psychology and a few well-timed bumps. It was a little clunky at times, but in a good way here because two men are trying to climb a ladder in the middle of this pro wrestling match. They built extremely well, with Shawn taking a catapult into a ladder in the corner, falling off the ladder and crotching himself, then falling to the floor. I probably liked this more than most, but oh well. ***3/4

WWF IC Title Match: Shawn Michaels (C) def. Sid in 7:25

They had this match on Raw because it was originally scheduled for Summerslam, but they changed it to Ladder Match II with Razor and Shawn. The work here was solid and safeguarded to play to Sid’s strengths. There was an awesome Sid spot where he did a nip-up and a chokeslam. He looked a little goofy in the selling for Shawn’s three superkicks at the end, but it’s fucking Sid. **3/4

11/30/1992 WWF Prime Time

IC Title Match: Shawn Michaels (C) def. Virgil in 7:08

Shawn worked hard to make this something, but even by 1992, Virgil had lost whatever charm he had when he turned on DiBiase. He worked hard, but you see things like the dropkick to the chest and dropping a fist when bouncing off the ropes, and it’s not hard to see why. **1/4
