Latino Heat Parking Lot Brawl: Eddie Guerrero def. John Cena in 9:03

Since we watched TNA in 2003 earlier, why not check out the competition. On the second anniversary of 09/11, the WWE treated us to a parking lot brawl between Eddie Guerrero and John Cena. The stip match was basically set up in a big parking garage with a bunch of cars parked in a circle. Cena overacted before Guerrero got there in a way that would make him blush today. They worked snug enough early to add to the heat and violence of it all. Cena pulled out the first highspot with a vertical suplex on a car. They each threw each other’s heads through a side window, but that was one of the few things I didn’t like about this match because it made no sense, with no blood anywhere on their entire bodies. That’s not how glass works. But they broke several windshields, Eddie burned Cena with a cigarette lighter, and a bunch of wrestlers and referees stood around watching to give it that old movie feel. Eddie won when Chavo interfered, and Eddie hit Cena with a fucking frog splash from the top of a car. This match probably wasn’t as good as Regal and Finlay on that Nitro, but it was every bit the WWE version of that match. All of this was a lot of fun. ***1/4
