WWF Tag Team Title Match: Smoking Gunns (C) def. Razor Ramon & 123 Kid by DQ in 7:10
After hearing about Razor and Kid almost being pummeled with Shawn Michaels outside of a Canadian bar, I figured I’d watch a tag match with the two. I honestly believe the company missed on Kid and Ramon as a regular tag team; they could have built the division around them. Kid’s size was obviously a problem for Vince, which is why Razor’s size would have helped. Also, it’s not like they couldn’t have broken up Razor’s three-plus-year run in the IC title picture, but I’m getting way off topic.
This match was when the Gunns were showing more of an edge and worked aggressively here. Watching Sean Waltman in this era is amazing. He was always right where he needed to be, and everything he did looked good. All of this was right before Kid turned on Razor, so they were doing the deal where Kid was taking too much of the match, which is just fucking fine by me. Billy wasn’t polished by any means, but he took a hip toss that showed his amazing athleticism and almost kept out of the camera view. After Kid got the hot tag and looked incredible, the Gunns took the advantage and hit Kid with an H-Bomb that looked awesome. Razor came in to break up the pin attempt and was DQ’d for coming in without a tag three times, in a rule that is rarely acknowledged whatsoever. Irony aside, the finish hurt a good wrestling tag team match. Kid walked out on Raxor after. **3/4
