The Context 

Here we have Bill Watts from his famous RF Video shoot in 2000 talking about Mick Foley and Kevin Nash. When Watts spoke about Foley, his face lit up in a way you normally wouldn’t see with the very surly Cowboy. He praised Foley’s willingness to put his body on the line and said that he was an incredibly smart guy. Somehow, and not surprisingly with Watts, his joy and praise trickled into some victim, and he started talking about Kevin Nash. Watts talked about Nash thinking he was the toughest guy on the planet, the most talented, and the best manipulator. Watts dissected every reason none of those statements are true, point-by-point, including saying that Nash couldn’t be the toughest guy in the world because no BASKETBALL PLAYER could be. 

Analysis 

This was just classic Bill Watts, where in one two-minute clip, he can be praising and insightful about Mick Foley, and then absolutely burying Kevin Nash with almost surgeon-like precision. Not to mention the absolute cremation of basketball players as a whole. His points about Cactus are interesting because Watts was the one to give him his first babyface push and to see that sort of potential in Foley in 1993. That move was also after making Cactus the mouthpiece for Barbarian in the latter’s world title feud with Ron Simmons. As for Kevin Nash, besides Watts and Nash’s experiences together in WCW, they would have brushed up against one another when Watts came in to book the WWF for a few weeks in Fall 1995. Nash was champion as Diesel, and one can only wonder what Watts thought about the guy he knew as Vinnie Vegas being in that position. That time was also the peak of the Klq asserting power in the WWF, so lord knows how those interactions were when everyone involved probably thought they had Vince’s ear.
