This match aired the same weekend the company was presenting Flair & Arn vs. Vader as the main-event handicap match of a Clash of the Champions, so it’s pretty clear what purpose this match serves. As much as I love both these Armstrong boys, you’re talking about half of the Southern Boys and Dixie Dynamite taking on THE two guys most synonymous with the Four Horsemen. The match was well worked thanks to the pros involved, but, as expected, most of it was dominated by the Horsemen. It looked like Scott was going to take the beating, but the heels pivoted to the much-thicker Steve, leaving Scott to get a very abbreviated hot tag. Flair got the pinfall on Scott with a figure-four after Arn DDT’d the future WWE referee. This was a very paint-by-numbers match to get Flair and Arn over for the Clash. **
