The Context
Here we have Konan on his podcast with Disco, discussing Dixie Carter’s relationship with Hernandez, and Dixie in general.
Konan said he had lived with Hernandez in Mexico at one point and noticed that he was wearing a lot of new clothes. Konan asked where he got them, and Hernandez said Dixie sent them to him. There was also discussion of a TNA calendar shoot, in which Hernandez was in “various states of undress,” but the project was never released. Hm. Konan said Hernandez told him nothing ever happened; he believed Hernandez, but also believed Dixie had a thing for him.
Disco offered some thoughts on Dixie and said he believed that Dixie came into the business with good intentions, but that after spending time with guys always trying to work and get over on her, she quickly learned the same, only wasn’t quite as good at it. Disco also talked about being there when Dixie took a body shot off of Pacman Jones, of all people.
Analysis
I’ve never heard this one before. If Konan believes Hernandez told him the truth, he knows their relationship better than anyone else. He even said the thing that probably stopped Dixie was the fear of word getting out. He also described the atmosphere of everyone drinking and flirting in TNA, so there is that as well.
Disco raises a good point. Even if you get into wrestling with strong ethics, the environment can wear you down. It’s something that probably doesn’t get mentioned enough about Dixie, and when you think about how things progressed to the point where she bilked Billy Corgan out of money and was cutting a promo on her locker room on live television, it adds up.
