11/02/1991 WWF Dark Match: Randy Savage, Roddy Piper & Jim Duggan def. Ric Flair, Undertaker, and Jake Roberts in 8:54. Jesus, look at the names in this match. The only one who was noticeably past his prime at this point was Duggan, but you never know what you’re going to get in a WWF dark match in this era. This match took place at a TV taping the night before Tuesday in Texas, so Taker was still the WWF champion. They did double heat and told a decent story, despite the time limitations. Jake and Flair each got into trouble and tagged the Undertaker at different points, with the babyfaces acting cautiously in a way they didn’t for Flair or Jake. Flair had to lead the match in bumps, which wasn’t surprising. There was a big melee at the end, and Savage pinned Flair after an elbow from the top. The finish felt very out of nowhere. Dark match, house show, or whatever, why was Flair losing at all here? I guess if you’re sending the crowd home happy, Jake had more heat because of the snake bite with Savage, and Taker was champion, but man, Flair had just gotten there and was still headlining with Hogan. The match was fun, but also not particularly good. This wasn’t a high-effort dark match to end the show by any means. **
