This morning, we’re offering a double shot, and I’m always down for some York Foundation hininx, so…

World Six Man Tag Team Title Match

Dustin Rhodes, Big Josh & Tom Zenk (C) def. Terrence Taylor, Richard Morton & Thomas Rich in 9:09.

Holy shit, we have some awesome old school territory workers in this match; arguably an All-Star crew with Taylor, Matt Borne, Rich, and Morton. The York Foundation was honestly booked horribly and could have at least been a solid fucking midcard act. Also, would you be interested in Matthew Borne to round out the group? It beats Big Joshua. Still, this trio had been together for a little over two months, and they’re bullshitting around and losing to three babyfaces almost selected at random.

They started great with each heel tagging in with a babyface and eventually bumping and selling for him after really good buildups. Again, this was a strength of all three on the heel side. Dustin took the heat and took a great bump over the top when Taylor launched him. Dustin was already good about three years in, and was the most suited to take a beating on his team. Josh got a hot tag and threw an impressive flurry of dropkicks to the crowd’s delight. Taylor went for a cover on Josh, but the ref saw his feet on the ropes and stopped the count. Josh then covered Taylor with his feet on the ropes, but the ref didn’t see it, and that’s how the babyface champions won. I thought all of that was unnecessary, and there were better ways to do a controversial finish without taking away from the match. This still turned out well because of the work. ***
